Good For The Bruins
Good for Kevin Prince. Booed off the Rose Bowl field in week 3, and booed back on it in week 6. He shoved it down Cal's throat Saturday. Mine too. I've been saying it's time to play the freshman.
Good for Tevin McDonald. It's been a learning experience for him. Saturday he had 3 interceptions.
Good for Aaron Hester. In Tucson he wouldn't turn his head back to the football to save his life. Saturday he looked like a pro locating it and picking off Maynard.
Good for Datone Jones. The butt of milk carton jokes notched two sacks and generally looked like the pass rusher fans have been waiting for.
Good for Jerry Rice Jr. He found some playing time and made a couple nice catches. A couple more nice catches and maybe people won't mention his father in the same sentence. (Like I just did.)
Good for Eric Kendricks. He got much overdue playing time and was all over the field.
Good for all the other young Bruins who got long overdue PT. GBruin covered this beautifully on the front page.
Good for Joe Tresey. His measurable performance has been worthy of a ticket on the next ship off the continent. Saturday his defense held Cal quarterback Zach Maynard to his lowest output of the season. Cal was 2-12 on 3rd down. Not a typo.
Good for the fans in the stands. They got a win and busted out in a flash mob. Not my thing, but preferable to booing the quarterback or wearing paper bags.
Good for the fans at home. I miss yelling at my television in joyous excitement.
Good for the alumni. It was homecoming.
Good for the cheerleaders. They looked great. Alumni cheerleaders included.
Good for Geoff Strand. I understand he had a couple good one-liners.
And yes, good for Rick Neuheisel. No, his seat isn't cooler. The strong performances by underclassmen only give credibility to his critics. But the nine days following the Debacle in the Desert had to be the worst of his UCLA career. Maybe, just for one night, he went to bed a happy Bruin.
Good for the Bruins. All of us. It's great to beat Cal.

Good for you for noting the positives
Does not change my view of the need for change. But you have to admire the coach and team for getting past the Arizona debacle.

Good post
It’s good to feel good about football. You summed things up very well. And great mention of Rick. While he has his struggles, I think we can all agree he’s a good guy, and it’s good that at least for a awhile he can feel good about something.
