Hmm, reading the piece again
While Petros observation quoted here is on point, he is off on this one:
“Boosters can squawk all they want,” Papadakis said. “But if he ends up 6-6 and going to a bowl game, I don’t think they’ll fire Rick Neuheisel.”That was from the same piece.
I don't blame him for that quote
given how Guerrero has operated, and given UCLA’s history of accepting mediocrity. If there is status quo on those fronts, he may very well end up being right.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
If we weren't subconsciously considering exactly that possibility
We wouldn’t still be building the case here that both of these guys need to be fired, because by the numbers, this is a no-brainer. However, 13-9 showed us exactly the kind of attitude Petros is talking about.
I don't think he is saying we should keep him if he gets to 6-6,
He is saying that he thinks our pathetic admin will keep him if he gets to 6-6.
And I am very worried he is right. That’s why we need regime change now.

No coach in any sport at any level at any time has ever done less...
…with more talent than Rick Neuheisel. No one else on the planet could turn top-25 talent into bottom-10 performance like he has done.
Donahue underachieved, but his players seemed to improve from their freshman to senior years. Neuheisel’s skill at eroding talent is like nothing I have ever seen. Call him Coach K, for kryptonite.
