It's time Neu. You're not the right guy. Whenever the cameras point to him, you can see it. Neu himself is telling us he's not the guy from his looks, body language, and most importantly, the way he coaches the SUC game. While he is a Bruin alumn, and seems to mean well, he is not the guy. He is not a winner. From all the rivalry games this weekend, I took a close look at all the coaches from the major programs. All I can think about is, Les Miles would never let a rival coach punk him for so many years in a row without showing a little fighting spirit. I don't mean getting beat, I mean getting punked on the field. Urban Meyer wouldn't let that happen. Nick Saban wouldn't let that happen. For some reason, I get the sad feeling that Neu is okay with losing to SUC. That he is okay being punked. How can a winner not be bothered by the footage of freaking Matt Barkley taunting our BRUINS after a classless play? How can he not show any fire after watching Petey celebrate at his expense for some many years?
MJD would motivate our players a hundred times more than Neu would because MJD is a winner. How is it year after year our BRUIN team looks exactly the same against SUC? No flare. No gimmicks. Nothing to show us that he is trying. Defense is worse. Offense is worse. You would think he will demand from our players that this is the game they need to give it their all. Hell, if it's unnecessary roughness, so be it. Sadly, we get nothing. Nue seems to love getting punched. No, not punched. He seems to love getting b*tch slapped in the face and still say how great SUC's slapping was year after year. The players look lost. Prince looks like he's still tryin to figure out what Neu wants him to do for this game. Year after year we look unprepared.
I always hoped that maybe if we gave him time, get some good recruits... I am now 100% sure it's not it. You put a winning coach at UCLA and I am pretty sure the players will not look as lost. We put so many players in the NFL during our down years, that means we have the talent. Give us a real winner and our talent will take us so much farther. Sadly, another slap in the face is happenig right now (another gimmick SUC play for a touchdown). Sadly, Neu is going to tell our players to take it with class.
I am tired of telling little 3rd, 4th, 5th graders why UCLA keeps losing. Why the kids wearing SUC gear keeps making fun of them. I even had a gifted 5th grader ask me, "Are you sure UCLA is a good school?" Of course, I had to tell her the difference between sports and academics. I want a winner as a coach. I want winners on the field. Most importantly, I want those little kids who wear our BRUIN gear to feel like winners and not get punked by SUC kids who don't even have ties to SUC.
The problem is, our coach is not a winner.
