Memo to Chianti Dan: Rick Neuheisel Needs to Go Now

Bumped. If Chianti Dan does not fire Rick Neuheisel by tomorrow, he should never be welcome any UCLA alumni function ever again. -BN Eds.

I never thought that I would say a UCLA football coach is worse than Karl Dorrell but guess what, CRN is a complete disaster as a coach is probably the worst coach in UCLA football history! It really is that bad. Dorrell was a shitty coach because he couldn’t recruit and brought in players who weren’t Div 1 football players. He was spineless and didn’t even try to compete with the scumbags across town for talent. So when they took the field, they were a mess. However, as bad as the team was for Dorrell, they had a moment or two (13-9, Drew Olson’s season, a Top Ten ranking) in his tenure. CRN?? Nothing!! Not a thing. But CRN is different. He brought in talent. In fact, he brought in good talent.

The problem is he can’t coach a lick, is viewed as a used car salesman who his players no longer believe in, is conservative as hell, and is running an offense that he has no experience with whatsoever!! I mean, what reputable coach ever does that. On top of that, just about every coach he has ever hired as an assistant has become worse under his leadership. How does that happen? I mean, just about all of his assistants, including Norm Chow who is widely respected, have been utter failures under CRN's leadership.

Then you have the players. I mean, what do they do in practice? They had to call timeouts twice tonight to get in important plays. The result? Plays that failed miserably. Didn't even come close.  He continues to play guys (Embree, Rosario, and Westgate to name a few) who continue to drop passes and miss tackes………yet their are younger options who are better (Marvray and Kendricks to name a few) who are better but don’t get any love. It is the same thing week after week, year after year. Same old story. As I told friends before the game tonight “I have seen this movie before, and I know the ending already, and I don’t want to see it again”. Well, the result was predictable, just as predictable as a Rosario dropped pass, a Westgate missed tackle, an overthrown ball by Kevin Prince, or a pass interference call on Sheldon Price

Has this team improved at all? Say what you will about Kiffin and USC…..but those guys got better as the season went on.  Do our guys give maximum effort every game? Not a chance.  Did you see how fired up USC was tonight. They were ready.....were we?  Yet the used car salesman lines keep coming. This week we heard……….“The gap has closed” or “some people may not see it because they don’t sit where I sit. They don’t see what I see”.

Really Rick?! You are going to pull that shit and think we are going to believe you? You are in denial as bad as the meth addict who can’t go a day without a fix. You think we are so stupid that we will believe your schtick. NO MORE!! We have not closed the gap! We see what you see every week and it is bad!!  REALLY BAD!!  Once again, say what you will about Kiffin, but would CRN have had the balls to bench Galippo and start three freshman linebackers like Kiffin did?  Not a chance! No way, no how………and look how it worked for them. CRN is spineless, gutless, and worst of all……….he is playing us for fools by telling us the gap has closed and the program is improving. It is all bullshit!

I have sent my letters to Gene Block. I even made a call after Arizona. They have proved they don’t care. We are getting everything we deserve to be honest with you. This is what you get when you run a football program on the cheap. This is what you get when you have less than adequate facilities. This is what you get when the chancellor’s office doesn’t care about athletics. You get apathy, you get blowout losses, and you get a fanbase who won’t go to games or support the athletic program…….but worst of all? You are getting a whole generation of young kids turning into Trojans because they have never seen UCLA have success on the football field. That will take decades to overcome and with every day that it continues, it will take an even greater miracle to turn it around in the future. The athletic department has let us all down.
