If Neu had any UCLA pride, he would resign immediately

Nestor has already pointed out that Chianti Dan is hell bent on sabotaging UCLA's chances to hire a proven, top tier head coach to replace Neu. Odysseus observed that the PAC 12 hot stove is heating up while our Chianiti swilling feckless bureaucrat AD makes idiotic statements about "signature wins."

Guerrerror's refusal to immediately fire Neu is inexplicable. In fact, he should have done it immediately following the UA debacle.

However, there is one person that can take that decision out of Chianti Dan's hands--Neu himself.

Neu has to realize that he has lost this team as well as the greater Bruins Nation. What is the point to prolonging the inevitable? If Rick has any pride in his alma mater, he would submit his resignation immediately so that UCLA can get on with its search for his replacement.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Seriously

This is such a no brainer.

Comeon Neuheisel. Make the right move man. You’d earn some points and salvage whatever little dignity you have left if you make the announcement this afternoon, you are not coming back next season. Make this easy on everyone and may be show some leadership, as we are clearly not getting it from Chianti Dan.

Out of curiosity

What would the collective fan opinion be is Rick Neuheisel announced that he was leaving AFTER Friday’s game? Or after any potential bowl game? Does it matter if he steps down this morning or just makes the announcement?

I think if he makes the annoucment

He could salvage a little bit of good vibes from fellow alums. I think it may get some of his players “fired up” (he seems to have lost most of the team). It’s his only shot if he wants to maintain long term good relations with UCLA family.

Dorrell ruined it by making excuses till the very end, using ridiculous coach speak and of course ridiculously using “race” as a factor of criticism leveled against his ineptitude. He lost all good will that way.

Neu has shown he is better at PR. If he still wants to use that skill to salvage his name, this is his only logical move.

Announcement now

means coaching search can be out in the open.

Roses are red, violets are blue...f*** $C.

And that's the most important point

Anything that impedes UCLA’s chances of hiring a top tier football coach needs to be removed.

The first impediment is Neu.

There is precedent

Coach Wooden announced he was retiring after the season. We all know what happened after that announcement.

I think CTSS could word an announcement that he’s resigning without having to admit that he sucked as a coach. Once he said he was leaving, no one would really listen to anything else he said anyway, and as noted by others, he gains respect and some good will and it lets the search be public.

I agree also with the major premise, namely, that if he had any real pride he would resign immediately. More than that, if he had any love or respect for his alma mater, he would resign immediately.

I think it's obvious

he has no pride left.

CRN was fired from his two previous head coaching jobs and he now finds himself dead man walking, about to fired from his third head coaching position and his dream job. He will never get another D1 head coaching position and he knows it.

Dan – is it too much to ask for you to show one ounce of human dignity and end this fiasco – END IT NOW! Save the players who are still loyal to CRN another beating at the hands of the Oregon Ducks with their helpless and hopeless coach still on the sidelines. Give immediate hope to our underclassmen and recruits that all is not completely lost. Show them that you do care. Show them someone still is in charge. Show them by your actions what you have failed to show by your words. That you are mad as hell and you are not going to take it anymore.

Correct

If Chianti Dan had any sense of decency he’d officially end the charade today.

Neuheisel has put his buyout (reported to be $250,000) ahead of his Bruin pride.

If Neuheisel were on the outside looking in, he’d be pushing for the firing of the current inept coach, too.

My biggest concern is that we try to get into a Bowl game (why?) with an interim coach, and we get Lavinized by the geniuses who now run Morgan Center.

Geniuses.
