Mack Brown Vows to Rebuild the Texas Program Brick by Brick
From the article -
"We've got to start over and we're rebuilding a foundation at every level: offense, defense, special teams, credibility, strength and conditioning, swagger, body language, chemistry, everything," Brown said.
"I don't want our players and our coaches trying to please other people to start practice. We've got a lot to do," Brown said. "I don't want media, I don't want people in the stands, I don't want autographs. Nothing right now. This is only about getting better."
I think I'd like to hear something along these lines from CRN. What say you?

at this point, it doesn't matter what CRN says
Produce next year, and all CRN’s problems go away. Don’t produce, and CRN goes away.

Well
I’d rather he succeeded than failed, and I like the sound of Mack Brown’s fix-it recipe.
As an aside, do you live near the Silverlake exit off the 101? I don’t know the area real well, but our flagship branch office is a little bit of a famous landmark around there.
Have to agree with Silverlake
Rick has done way to much talking and not nearly enough walking. You know what they say about fearing the dog that doesn’t bark? That’s what Rick needs to understand right now.

Right
but I think we’d probably agree that he has to DO things differently. Locking the public out of practice would send a clear message to the players about how dead serious he is about improvement, although I’d seriously miss the daily updates…
I could care less what he tells us, but I want to see concrete steps towards improvement. With the coaching staff changes it is way to early to expect to see any of those concrete steps, but this is one I think would be good for the team.
I would have to agree with you
Having the spring practices open allows the media to attend and must have a psychological impact (even if it’s a subconscious one) on our players. I would have no problem whatsoever if CRN closed all practices and made it abundantly clear to his players that this is it. I couldn’t care less if he didn’t even talk to the media much this offseason. I’d almost prefer it. So we’d be bored here at BN, but if it sends the message to our athletes that the program is in lockdown mode until we start winning, I’m all for it.
