UCLA lost without a whimper last night to Oregon. No coach understands why a team comes out "flat". it happens in every sport. But the UCLA deficiencies remain glaring. (1) no movement or sharp cuts to the basket (2) no player who can create his own shot (Honeycutt on his best days); (3) unreliable outside shooting forces everything inside; (4) the inside players (Nelson) have bad hands and there are too many touch passes into tight windows and (5) weak side rotation (Yeech).
Frankly with a superior team from an athletic standpoint (speed, size, jumping, quickness), how can UCLA give up so many easy drives to the basket. While they will get to the tournament, for a UCLA team there were too many bad losses to Montana, Cal (after USC beat them like a drum), and others.
