Note the distinction between the "wolf-like" attitude and the real killer instrinct
He explains why the team attitude needs to change:
[L]ately "We" as in the UCLA basketball team, has approached games with a "wolf" like mentality. Not the "ideal" wolf that represents a killer, but instead, the wolf that seldomly grieves when a rabbit gets away because in its mind another opportunity to eat will soon arise. However, during this time of the season, if that rabbit gets away, there won[’]t be another opportunity for a meal."
Time to slay the bunnies Malcolm—you can do it!
Love it. Malcolm!
Great attitude. Hopefully the rest of the team will listen and get with the program! GO BRUINS!!!

Articulate as well
Excellent way for Malcolm to frame the team and himself as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament. Quiet leadership on display…..

Interesting analogy
let’s see: wolves hunt in packs with coordinated efforts. As predators they must have that killer instinct or starve.
Rabbits rely on stealth and quick bursts of energy to survive. Their noted quickness and speed are results of running for your lives.
I’d still rather be the wolf.

Interesting thoughts...
I think when he speaks of the “wolf-like” attitude, versus being the wolf he’s reflecting on the lack of sense of urgency that the the team has often displayed this year…and of course there’s no place for that in the tournament. I think if we take on the rabbit’s sense of urgency paranoid mentality yet execute the kill like wolves then we’ll go far. Go Bruins!
