It looks like the Pac-10 isn't the only conference with incompetent referees. Coach Howland's predecessor gets lucky yet again.
Related: We're all rooting against St. John's, right? It's amazed me that people are seriously considering Coach Howland's predecessor as a Coach of the Year candidate.
UPDATE: NCAA head of officials calls this "unacceptable".

Yahoo
If you read the Yahoo article on it, there’s one blurb that I find amusing:
As for St. John’s coach Steve Lavin, he seemed genuinely perplexed and unsure about what had happened…
Ok, I took it slightly out of context. Still pretty funny to envision the “perplexed” look on the Lizard’s face.
Ugly
Bad calls on both sides of the ball, but those 3 calls at the end really sucked for Rutgers – the non-call of the foul on Rutger’s last shot, the ensuing non-call when they fouled over the back, then the non-call when the St. John’s player stepped out/travelled/threw the ball out of bounds. Its a shame for the Scarlet Knights.
On the other hand, watching the last 5-10 minutes of that game reaffirmed once again why I’m glad CHP is long gone and 3 time zones away!
3 non-calls
1) The travel
2) Out of bounds
3) a T for throwing the ball into the stands
If the T is called, Rutgers gets 2 free throws and potentially has a tie game and possesion of the ball with nearly 2 seconds to make a play.
