Kevin Ware Likely To Bruins?

Bumped with additional links and video. There has been no confirmation from any UCLA specific sources. It is unclear if this is a strong possibility but Ware is connected to Korey McCray, who is in the running to replace Scott Duncan at UCLA. Something folks should keep an eye on. - A

Jon Gold retweeted that GatorBait.net reports Ware will sign with UCLA on his official visit which should be coming up soon.

I think it's a step in the right direction for this program to be able to act quickly and get a replacement for Malcolm. From what I've read, he's very athletic and is improving every year.  Sounds like good news to me.  Good move by Coach Howland and his staff.

Update (A): Scout.com profile:

Ware is one of the most explosive shooting guards in the class. He is capable of a highlight reel dunk at any point in time and has a motor that is always going. The problem is Ware has a tendency to turn the ball over when he is a primary ball handler. He has to play off the ball where he can react instead of having to make the decisions and set up teammates.

ESPN:

Strengths:
Ware is a tremendous pure athlete who is learning every day how to play the game of basketball. Many have compared him to Randy Moss who has been one of the better athletes of his time. Ware has consistently improved his overall game and shooting ability over the past year. When he has a good point guard with him that allows him to get out on the break there could be none better in the class at finishing above the rim. Ware is the true meaning of slasher who has made himself a more consistent pull-up jump shooter inside the arc.

Weaknesses:
Kevin has struggled at times with his perimeter stroke behind the arc. He has been very inconsistent which must improve. Most of those shots came off the dribble where he was responsible for creating for himself. At times this summer when put into a primary ball-handling role his struggles with ball-handling were revealed. The pressure sped him up at times and he was turnover prone when the ball was in his hands. The one surprise was his lack of great hands. He seemed to struggle catching balls and grabbing rebounds because he lacks soft hands.

Video highlights:

There has been no confirmation from any reliable UCLA sources that Ware to UCLA is a strong possibility but recruiting game always tend to have some surprises.
