Women's Tennis National Semifinal Open Thread
Another day, another Bruin team in the spotlight. Tonight, the Women's Tennis team is taking on #2 seed Florida in the NCAA Semifinals in Palo Alto. The match is scheduled to begin at 4pm PDT on the Stanford campus. A live score update will be available here, and the match will be televised on ESPNU. For folks that do not get ESPNU, there is a live feed provided via Stanford.
To get to the Semifinals, the #6 ranked Bruins beat Quinnipiac and San Diego in straight sets in the regional held at the Los Angeles Tennis Center, becoming one of the 16 teams advancing to Palo Alto. On Friday, In the Round of 16, UCLA beat 11th seeded Virginia 4-1; last night saw the Bruins upset #3 seed Duke 4-2 to advance to the National Semifinals.
After the events of the last week, last few months and years with the Gators, of course the Bruins draw Florida in the Semis! This is your open thread for this game, and all of tonight's action.
Go Bruins!

can someone explain how the scoring works?
currently 7-4 on court 3…?
so they play set to 8 rather than normal set to 6?
or they play 12 games?
and it's scored on cumulative games across courts?
e.g. an 8-0 win and two 8-6 losses would average out at a win, despite losing 2-1 in sets?
(feel free not to respond if this is tedious)
just very confused as someone who played tennis pretty competitively in high school and at local tennis clubs!!
Singles
About midway through most of the first sets, UCLA’s up a break on two courts and down a break on three.
Out of the first sets, UCLA’s taken one, Florida’s taken three, and Florida’s leading 5-4 on the other two courts. :(
Gators
All right allready, enough of the Gators. We seem to be in a horrible rut against Florida in all sports. However, congrats to Ladies Tennis for at least making final four.
Who are we cheering to win now? Stanford or Florida. Stanford will get their #102 if they win.
Also let’s hope $C does win the men’s title.
After falling behind,
Florida pushes through a matchup that lasted over four hours to overcome Stanford 4-3 for the Division I Women’s Tennis Championship. Take a look back at the path to the title below.
