Phil Steele Names Nine Bruins to his Preseason All Pac-12 Squad
Now, bear in mind that the only one to make first team was Sean Westgate (I know, right?!), while Tony Dye slipped to second team and Cassius Marsh down to fourth team. Jet Ski was named third team, and for reasons completely unknown to anyone watches football, Steele named Embree as his third team punt returner.
Either the Pac-12 has really crappy punt returners this upcoming year or Phil has been getting some of the really good Cheech and Chong stuff.

Phil Steele does a good job predicting where teams will finish at the upper echelons
not sure I’m buying his analysis of players here.
I'm guessing that being a returning starter was weighted heavily in his system
That’s the only way any of this makes any remote sense. Westgate as 1st team, but D. Riley isn’t on the list? That’s questionable, to say the least.

Basically, it's a list of who he thinks is in the top third at each position in the conference.
Given that premise, it doesn’t look good that we have only one offensive lineman on the list ( and he’s on the fourth team).
I think we learned last year that Paclic is a good coach.
I have faith that our guys are continuing to progress and develop at a good clip.
Leaving Datone Jones off
is a mistake, in my opinion. I’m guess he is first team All Pac-12 after this season.
