Marketing Intern - Athletics
Did all this backlash cause Morgan Center to realize the need to actually market UCLA Athletics with fresh, creative ideas? I think I could do a great job with this just by reading everything here on BN!

I'm not sure the link is leading us where you want it to go.
But I get the drift.
Here’s a problem I have with this job posting. As you said, there have been a lot of great ideas floated on this community. I can easily name a handful of guys on this board that would do a great job marketing UCLA Athletics to the students, in the LA area, etc.
But, the Morgan Center is incapable of thinking outside the box. So, they’ll bring someone in with some experience in traditional marketing, and ask them to do the same old thing the same old way. And, get the same old results.

its a volunteer position
I am sure it is mostly answering the phones, doing spreadsheets, making copies, etc.

Not sure why the link isn't working for you
It seems to work for me, but thanks to freesia for the other link.
The software used for the job search is a little quirky
(I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me, and I was trained on how to use it!)
In every job posting, there’s a direct link – don’t copy the link in your browser, it only works specifically to your current session.
change needs to start from the top
not the bottom

Here's another link
I really think it might be a non-paying position, there’s no corresponding job code or payroll title.
By the way, women’s basketball is looking for a receptionist/assistant
Interesting
UCLA’s online directory lists Ralph Irvin as a “Marketing Intern”. Hopefully he got a promotion!
I wonder if this position would get to make “Football Friday” videos? That’d be fun.
Where? Irvin is listed as Assist.
We have interns at games. They handle the super shots, and other give outs during timeouts.
www.directory.ucla.edu and search his name. I did think it was odd he was labeled as an intern, maybe the directory is wrong.
My roommate does this
This position has been around for awhile and is not the change we were hoping to see from the Morgan Center.
It’s an unpaid internship with the possibility of being hired after a period of time. She hands out posters, flyers, souvenir pins, etc. at games to the season ticket holders and special guests, and works in the office during the week doing cold calls and spreadsheets. On game days, she and the ten other people work long hours in the sun for little to no pay.
I’d rather be cheering at the games than standing outside the stadium until the third quarter serving alumni.
