Around SBN: Following UFC 146 Loss, Jason 'Mayhem' Miller 'Done' in UFC

NBC Sports is reporting that Ohio State's director of compliance got a "courtesy vehicle" from a local Columbus dealership in exchange for Buckeyes tickets. If this pans out, Ohio State's penalties could make U$C's look like child's plays.

Sad to say, but it wouldn't surprise me

I still can’t believe that with all those things that were going on (not to mention the things we don’t know about), that Tressel was the only one at tosu who knew about it.

How long?

The OSU AD is a dead man walking career-wise if this is true. The buck stops at the top. If this is true, he will be gone in short order.

I'm still wondering if this is a violation.

If it’s the same dealership that gave the students vehicles, and it was used to entire the owner to continue giving vehicles to players, maybe. But to my knowledge, its not like the athletic department are amateurs, they’re professionals. For example: college basketball coaches have shoe contracts (even Ben does). They can take, and give out, plenty of benefits as long as they don’t jeopardize any players’ amateur status or give them a recruiting advantage. I’m not an expert, but I’m not sure this is against the rules.

It is not a violation per the article “Let’s get this out of the way right from the start: what’s alluded to in the headline is not an NCAA violation. It’s perfectly fine and well within the Association’s guidelines and bylaws.”

It may not be a violation...

…but it raises serious red flags about all kinds of conflict of interest issues.

No doubt.

But I think those have been raised already in no uncertain terms. There is smoke, and fire here, and i’m sure if the NCAA keeps looking, they’ll find more.

Same, most likely, with Oregon, same with Auburn, same with Texas, and undoubtedly same with U$C, still, to this day. Their new “compliance department” is likely a mannequin, a human corpse, and Garfield the cat.

This is truly appalling.

I didn’t think it was possible to make SC look good, but Ohio is doing their very best. I expect nothing less than a smoking crater in Columbus. Anything less is hypocritical.
