Now that the regular season is over, individual player honors are beginning to be announced, and Bauer picked up a big one. As shared this morning by the official site, Trevor Bauer has been named as the national college player of the year by the weekly publication Collegiate Baseball. In addition, Bauer was named to the Louisville Slugger D-1 All-American First Team - one of four Pac-10 players named as an All-American and the only one to make the First Team.
Bauer was named Louisville Slugger's National Player of the Week a record 7 times this season, while leading the nation in strikeouts and carrying a 1.27 era. He is the first Bruin to be named as their national player of the year, and the 4th Pac-10 player overall to win this award - the first since Mark Prior in 2001.
