Wendell Tyler Denies Marc is Being Paid, Silent on Other U$C Players

Former UCLA running back Wendell Tyler, father of U$C loud-mouth Marc Tyler, responded to the flurry of criticism that came following his son's drunken comments that U$C football players were "breaking bread" and getting paid:

Wendell insists that  "Marc was clearly joking" ... telling us the USC player still relies on his parents to cover his expenses outside of his scholarship.

"Marc is DEFINITELY not getting paid ... so I don't know what he was thinking when he said it."

Still, Wendell admits ...  "It's a wake up call."

Wendell's probably right: Marc probably isn't "getting paid" (although one has to be concerned about the quality of the "education" he's receiving at his junior college since he can't seem to tell USC from USB).  But Marc never said he was being paid, but that U$C football players were "breaking bread."

After all, we already know that U$C players do get illegal benefits. As we noted before, being hauled in front of the NCAA Committee on Infractions is nothing new for U$C.  It's a program that cheated at every opportunity, not just limiting itself to paying players, but sought every illegal competitive advantage it could.  I mean, USC (United States China, that is) gave Trogan running back Joe McKnight a pimped out Land Rover while current U$C running back Dillon Baxter makes up stupid lies and rides around in golf carts with weak-sauce wannabe (yet certified) NFLPA agents.  I mean, this is, after all, the "most scandalous athletic program of this era."

In other words, under ol' "Ethical" Pat, it sounds like it's just another "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" routine at the U$C athletic department.

Fortunately for us (and unfortunately for the Trogans and their lame non-alum fanboys), ol' Marc couldn't keep his mouth shut after a few drinks.  I wonder what other dirt he'd spill if his buddies let the cameras keep rollin' and not shut him up.

USB Trogans.  God, these morons are the gift that keep on giving.

Wendell Tyler

One of my favorite Bruins – and L.A. Rams – of all time. Too damn bad he couldn’t get his son, Marc, to walk the straight line and go to UCLA like his old man did.

I think KD had some fault in that...

But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.

Clearly Marc picked the right school

KD gets a lot of criticism, but we certainly don’t need low character clowns like Tyler running around.

As I mentioned before...

was it the chicken or the egg? Was he a douche before he went there, or did it cause him to become one?

Let's just say

you have to at least have Douche tendencies to go to SUC…

Douche potential?

I think that would be a useful attribute to add to scouting reports: “He has high-major douche potential at the next level. U$C has offered.”

No argument there

but if I remember correctly, KD didn’t even try to recruit him…and it pissed off Wendell. But it also sounds like Marc wanted to go to U$C anyway.

I still remember......

1975 UCLA-u$c game…. Wendell Tyler fumbled six times. We still won the game but I thought at the time he must be getting paid off by the Trogans.

1975 SC Game

Sat in row 75 (or whatever the last row is at the coliseum), in the fog and cold, and noted each and every fumble. McKay lost to Vermeil and we were off the Rose Bowl for a big win (one of the best ever)!!!! That is why winning the PAC-12 and winning the Jan 1 bowl game is the standard at UCLA and needs to be the standard forever!

Remember That Game Soooo Well

Back home in Iowa on TV. Thought I was going to have a mental breakdown 3 or 4 times during this one; I just wanted to beat ‘SC so badly and get to the Rose Bowl. To this day I still don’t know how we pulled it off.

The day we brought my son home from the hospital

That day was the day we brought my son home from the hospital. I was watching the game on the bed with my new born son lying next to me sleeping. Everytime Wendell fumbled I would swear and pound the bed. My son would wake up crying and I would sooth him back to sleep only to have another fumble.
That was my son’s introduction to UCLA football. 35 years later he’s a sportswrite and still roots for the Bruins. When he was applying to colleges I told him he could go anywhere but one school. He chose Wisconsin and I haven’t lived down the two times we played them in the Rose Bowl.

Wendell did say his son "prayed" about...

going to suc…maybe marc was"sauced" at the time and meant to say he was “Paid” to go to …

But seriously, If UCLA FB hadn’t been in such decline, the lord may have directed him to attend UCLA. Just Like Bibby and Waltons kids shoulda attended UCLA but we all know why that didn’t happen.

It starts at the top

with Ethical Pat. He thinks his student athletes are going hungry!

But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.

Ethical Pat

Ethical Pat learned from the biggest cheater in the college game, John Mc Kay. Mc Kay makes Cheatey Petey look, well, close to being an amateur. A one game suspension for Tyler – what a joke! Everyone knows that $c players are paid and always will be paid. The NCAA should have given them the death penalty. Hopefully, the next time around they will.

A wake up call?

Did you hit the snooze button when he spat on one woman on campus and than groped another?
