English not Trogan: 40,000 Readers Can't be Wrong
A special insert in today's L.A. Times is the "Readers Choice 2011 Best of Southern California," which contains polling results from "well over 40,000" voters on many categories (e.g., best Russian restaurant, best museum, best chiropractor). In the Education section, the winning University was -- of course -- UCLA!
The write up notes that "UCLA is a shared public asset that benefits society..." It recognizes Westwood for "... educating students, powering the economy and improving overall quality of life." Further, we are "... the top arts and cultural education center in the western U.S...." And lest anyone be uninformed, we are identified as "... home to a storied and proud Bruin sports program that has brought home the most NCAA team championships in the history of collegiate sports."
Awfully impressive for a summary only two sentences long!
There was no Second Choice listed.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

It must have killed the LAT to report those results
Granted, the results are a bit biased.
After all, the 40,000+ voters had to be able to actually read the question in order to answer it, so that eliminated the input of all the usb trogans right there.

You're right!
We can now expect the Southern Cal president to complain that it’s a very biased sample to limit voting to those who can actually read a simple ballot. Why, that eliminates most of the football squad and certainly those pulling A’s from Senora Ross.
Correct-o=mundo!
Reading is not a requirement to get into $c. Unless, it is Spanish and you can guarantee Senora Ross will help you with anything you need.

Mike Garrett just issued a statement that the 40,000+ voters have Trogan envy.

WHAT?!?!?
I’m very disappointed in the Trojan Time editors :-(
Surely, if they own the police, they must own the presses too. RECALL THOSE COPIES!

Note that they still do stick the trogans in the intro to the section.
Go Bruins!
In other news,
voters said that that the favorite zoo in the region (under entertainment) was the L.A. Zoo, narrowly beating the ’SC compliance office by a mere 200 votes.

Well
that zoo only has 4 monkeys in it…
But hey, what do I know. Iām just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
the verbiage guaranteed us winning....
after all, it did say best “university” in los angeles…

ah, excellent point
that’s why I always insert the asterisk when typing *$c.

There are other universities in Southern California....
Cal State LA, Cal State Northridge Cal State Long Beach, Azusa Pacific, Loyola Marymount, etc. Putting aside Long Beach State for a short time under Tark the Shark, none of them are known for sustained SCandal, cheating, and backseating EDUCATION behind pigskin.
