"I made a winning shot on the road one night," says former UCLA forward Josh Shipp, who plays for Galatasaray in the Turkish Basketball League. "And next thing you know, I was getting pelted with batteries, cell phones, you name it. I had to run for it. But that's nothing. I played with a guy who said they won a game on their rival's court once and the whole crowd rushed the court. They had to punch people just to get into the locker room!"

Wow
I heard on the radio the other day that some teams over there are just really bad to play for. They’ll be several months behind on salary payments to players, with players often having to take them to court to collect, where they end up settling for a fraction of the amount initially promised to them. Playing overseas sounds really hit or miss for the players.
Several American players have gone on record saying
that there are a few franchises that are pretty dependable (CSKA Moscow, Panathinaikos etc.) but the rest are hit or miss when it comes to paying on time and honoring contracts in general.
Wow, I can't imagine what getting hit with a battery would feel like.
Keep your head down, Josh!
The best thing you can do for your children is to love their mother. John Wooden
This could be the Lizard's next career move.
Coaching one of these teams. (In his case I use the word “coaching” very loosely.)
Some hardcore stuff...
But why does Rick Reilly add (seemingly as if it’s a negative thing) that …“Your breakfast is often olives, tomatoes and hummus.” That sounds delicious and super-healthy.
On another note, basketball players have it easy in comparison to opposing soccer players in Turkey (Think: plastic bags filled with warm urine)
