Ralph gives us the "official highlights" of what Richard Brehaut described as UCLA's "huge win" over San Jose State.
Sean Westgate called it "huge" and said how the Bruins are a "fourth quarter team." Yes, these quotes are in the video above.

I find this one troubling too
Sheldon Price:
all week we’ve been stressing turnovers, I mean, we’ve been getting them a lot in practice
hopefully that wasn’t against the first team offense!
Of the various interviews, I thought Westgate was the least bad in tone – 4th quarter team now but need to be a 1st half team. He seemed glad to see the defense step up in the end, but knows that level of effort won’t be good enough to beat good teams.
Not a big fan of Sheldon Price talking about putting people on ‘Price island’ a la Revis. I guess his 1 career interception is because his coverage is so good no-one ever throws his way….?
Derrick Coleman said it best
the team “played around”… guess a lot of the guys were just “too cool” to play hard and disciplined against a weaker program. Glad Derrick Coleman got the chance to get some hard runs in and bail this team out.
well Nestor i guess they the team choose to see the glass as half-empty rather...
than half full…maybe CRN’s so-called ‘optimism’ is seeping into their emotional make-up…or on a more cynical note, are they just kidding htemsleves to make it out of the rose bowl with their heads held high?
I'm glad that they seem to be building confidence and want to get better
Not shirking responsibility for mistakes, either… that’ll help them improve.
I’ve been feeling so negative and critical I was missing the positive.
Thanx for posting that video – it makes me feel better about my Bruins!
"huge win"
This team hasn’t won since Oregon St last year…at this point ANY win is huge. This team “should” have beaten Washington, ASU, and Houston last week, but failed, so any progress IS progress.
As for Price on turnovers in practice…don’t they face a scout team all week?
Appreciate the win, folks…we haven’t enjoyed one in 10 MONTHS!!!
