T. Embree: I hate la, dirty, crowded, traffic, expensive..most overrated city in america cant wait to get baq to the #303
Really, Taylor?! Way to alienate the University that gave you a scholarship. Never seen anyone regress so much since their freshman year. Nobody is stopping you from leaving.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Are you sure this isn't sour grapes from losing your starting job at wide receiver and punt returner?

Feel free to give back your scholie Taylor...
…I know several kids who would feel blessed to have the opportunity you have been given.
Thanks
You got it done while I was uploading

He can go play for his daddy for all I care
The little whiner sits away from his teammates on the sideline and pouts the whole game.
Meow.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
I adore UCLA, but dislike L.A.
I think that’s okay. If this same school/faculty was located in hell i’d consider living there for 3 years.
..Not that I go around tweeting such opinions
You are not getting a free tuition ...
… To attend one of the best schools in the country. We don’t want to see people attacking our student athletes but to say we are disappointed at Embree given how he has been totally treated at UC Los Angeles, would be an understatement.

Right
I mean, its ok if you don’t love this city you moved to, but to spit out comments like is unacceptable. UCLA is BEAUTIFUL and you are SO lucky to be attending and playing football for FREE. He needs to appreciate what he has. Timing us suspect too after he didn’t play as much this weekend.
"The entire world that bleeds blue and gold ... they have been dying for this." - Coach Rick Neuheisel
He is part of the problem.
One reason we are a failing program (and there are many) is that some players are not committed to victory. Oh, they work hard in practice and throw their bodies around on game day. But victory requires a commitment far beyond hard work.
Against mighty San Jose State, our starting center sat out the game because he was much more interested in enjoying drugs than being a committed member of a winning team. And during the first half against Texas, that same center picked up an offside which ended up changing a 3rd and 2 to a 3rd and 6 and, voila, end of drive. Victory requires a commitment far beyond hard work.
And last year, we had a number of players who had 1 game suspensions for unspecified violations of team rules which could not be publicly discussed because to do so would violate state and federal laws. Those players were more interested in pursuing their unspecified violations of team rules which could not be publicly discussed because to do so would violate state and federal laws than being a committed member of a winning team. Victory requires a commitment far beyond hard work.
And so far, that commitment has not been shown by too many of our players.
Peggysue69 - you are so right
Our players need to play with “HEART”. That can’t be taught it comes from within your very soul. If you are out on the field and have pride for those 4 letters on your uni., you had better play with heart or let someone else that will take your spot. Every player needs to take a “gut check”. Let’s all leave it on the field.

"I can't be the only one who cares"
In a marriage, or other close relationship, these words mean it’s already over.
We’re in denial, and/or trying to be polite to think otherwise.
Most football coaches would’ve barked: “If you don’t care, I will play the dude behind you who does. And if he doesn’t care, I will snatch students out the stands. We will care”.
U-C-L-A Fight, Fight, Fight! Go Bruins!
Go Lakers! Go Dodgers! Go Angels!
"If you don't care, I will play the dude behind you who does."
Coach called it, “The power of the bench.”
I think Embree's just pissed at how expensive it is
to park his vespa in Westwood.
You know what I hate?
Lame wide receivers who can’t hold on to the rock, can’t run crisp routes, and when they do actually manage to catch the ball, do absolutely nothing with it.
I also hate football players who talk a lot but win nothing. I despise guys who talk a big game and when it comes time to put up or shut up, show some leadership and pride, fold like a cheap Wal-Mart tent on a windy day.
In other words, Taylor, if you can’t get you act together, no one in L.A. is going to miss you or your attempts to become the next Brian Poli-Dixon.
To be fair
it’s not his fault our blind coaches keep playing him. Maybe they’re trying to convince his dad to not beat us too badly? Oh yes, Colorado is going to spank us too.
And, let’s give credit where credit is due, the next and current Brian Poli-Dixon is Nelson Rosario.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
+1
on not blaming him for the amount of playing time he’s received.
I guess I’m in the minority when I say I’m not extremely bothered by this. On the grand spectrum of twitter fails by college athletes, this is pretty minor. There’s no names, no ucla hashtag, or mention of football at all in his internet whine session. I realize context is important, but had this tweet gone out during the off-season or after a win, we may not even be talking about it. And I can’t completely disagree with what he is literally saying, I hate all those things about LA too. That being said, if I were a “high-profile” athlete that just got clowned on national television, I wouldn’t be saying a damned thing on the internet.
Thing is
I don’t really disagree with his tweet either. It must be a weird experience getting to the Rose Bowl, I think there is something in that process that disassociates the players from the school and the fans.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
Do other teams
with on-campus stadiums stay at a nearby hotel the night before their home games?
I live in the 303
Except for missing the beach every single day and the Rose Bowl on 6 or 7 Saturdays in the fall, I really do like living here.

Colorado is going to spank us too?
Hey, I’m as disappointed as the next guy with how we “didnt” show up on Saturday, but I cant go hyper negative yet.
The fact is that the Pac-12 looks very bland, with only Stanford and Oregon looking like they are actually worth BCS consideration, and Stanford just lost the heart of their defense to injury.
We can still manage 6 or 7 wins and a bowl game. It wont make you feel good or cause you to think we’ve turned a corner, but CRN would keep his job for another year and without a doubt, Hundley would be his starter next year.
Does LA have traffic…duh!
Is it expensive…anywhere worth living is
Dirty…give me a break, have you ever been to NYC or NOLA. LA has it’s dirty, run down areas, but what major metro area doesnt…Denver included.
Overrated..I dont think so, that description fits Embree more than LA

Dirty run-down areas in Denver...
My son’s bedroom. We’re just outside Denver, but close enough.
greg in denver, U.C.L.A. guy for life - BruinsNation.com
If the game was Saturday
Colorado would have spanked us too, with alleged backpack thief Paul Richardson going for 300 yards receiving. We’re the doormat of the division right now.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
shut down twitter for all players!!!!
seriously? thinking about “co” when this team is hurting? and you wanna go home? shouldn’t this be the time when you and the entire team focuses on WINNING games and getting BETTER? and you cant wait to get back home? 3 games into the season? and you’re already crying? WTF? some of these guys on this team should just go back home and make room for kids that want to be here and WIN! it’s this type of psyche that kills a team…that locker room needs a wake up call NOW…
He is accurate in some ways.
It is very expensive in LA (and the whole state, for that matter). If you stray too far from Westwood, it gets pretty dirty in some places. (My fraternity house on Landfair would qualify for dirty under any definition.) I don’t know that he’s right saying LA is the most overrated city going. He hasn’t been around Geezerville, where the talk is pretty much about how Heaven is just the foyer to Boston.
I like the way most of the comments support him. I think we could get a whole bunch of people willing to volunteer to help him pack up his apartment and load it into a van. I’ll chip in on the costs of the van if he promises to leave before the next game. We’ll even escort you to the border. And we will wish you well in your next endeavor.
Kid's frustrated
He’s not playing as much and his team’s losing. That’s always a really tough combination. When people get frustrated, they tend to vent their emotions at stupid things… hopefully we see some kind of repentance from him after he’s cooled down.
Repentance from a teenager?
I suppose it’s happened some time, some where. I have never seen it or heard of it. Certainly not from my teenager.
Bad Form
Taylor, if this is how you truly feel, then feel free to pay my UCLA back for your free, first-class college education received on one of the most beautiful campuses in one of the most exclusive areas in the country.
In this way, you will gain both a clean conscience, and a deeper understanding of the word, “expensive.”
Love My Bruins
