NFL Open Thread Week Three: UCLA/NFL Game of the Week is Denver at Tennessee
Welcome to your NFL Open Thread for Week Three of the season.
Today's UCLA/NFL Game of the Week takes place in Nashville, where the Denver Broncos visit the Tennessee Titans.
Usually, we look to the Jacksonville when we want to see Bruins doing their thing in the pros, with Maurice Jones-Drew and Marcedes Lewis both playing featured roles in the Jaguars offense. But this week we're going with their AFC divisional rival, the Tennessee Titans. I've watched the Titans twice this year (when you hit your knees tonight to say your prayers, please be sure to thank The Big Guy for Direct TV's Sunday Ticket)) and there are three Bruins getting serious time on the Titans defense. On the Titans depth chart, you'll find rookie Akeem Ayers starting at linebacker, while defensive end Dave Ball (who is old enough to have played for Bob Toledo) and Alterraun Verner. Though they are on second team on the depth chart both Ball and Verner get a lot of time. Ayers is playing great, he gets his name called quite a bit.
The Broncos at Titans is an NFL early game this week, starting at 10 am Eastern Pacific. In the afternoon Jarrad Page and the woeful Kansas City Chiefs play the Chargers in San Diego.

hate to be that guy but
Denver/Tennessee is at 10 am Pacific time.
Hate to say
But this game is a “punting is winning” game. Watching Redzone. Nice to get an occasional MJD highlight.

The Jags just scored on the last play in the half ...
they had a Hail Mary last year, too, against Texas.
Yeah, amazing play by the QB
Frank Gore is not looking very hot for the Niners (and not helping my fantasy team).
Thugaluga bailed us out on that one, N
Nothing like a gratuitous helmet-to-helmet hit on a downed player …

Too much so
Can’t say I am a big fan of the playcalling on this ‘drive’. Would have been nice to at least try to get a 1st down, or even gain a few yards to make Akers’ job easier here.

Vikings
Don’t understand “punting is winning.” losing 23-20 after being up 20-0.

I know the feeling
Looks like the Raiders are going to pull this one out – with some help from Bruce Davis, if that helps.
