Coach Jim Mora was taking the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl yesterday in San Francisco. While he was there he spoke to the reporters. BruinReportOnline.com posted a video of his Q&A with the reporters at the bowl game.
It is a must watch because of what takes place in first part of the video. Right off the bat T J Simers asks him some pointless, pathetic, ridiculous questions about not being "visible" in Westwood:
Apparently Simers is bitter because he wasn't invited to his introductory press conference. Simers' hackish, vindictive and childish line of questioning is not surprising at all to anyone here. He has been doing this assclown shtick for years. The question here is why does Chianti Dan's athletic department let him get away with this nonsense with no repercussions?
Compare this to the right move by Pat Haden from earlier this season when he suspended commentators from Southern Cal's own radio station for making "disparaging remarks made about the university." There is an easy explanation for this. Unlike Chianti, Haden actually cares about protecting the brand of his alma mater and its football program.
Given Chianti Dan doesn't give a damn and deludes himself to thinking he is doing "pretty darn good job
ruining running" our program, our coaches continue to be subjected to nonsense like this. If Chianti Dan cared about protecting his coaches from the a**holes in the media, he'd make sure clowns like Simmers never got close to a UCLA sporting event.
PS: Mora just earned big points in my book for correctly calling the school over there "Southern Cal." All UCLA alums, students and fans should be doing the same.
