Guerrero’s Pre-Emptive Excuse v. Trojans: a "13-mile trek across town"!
Not sure how many here are still reading Dan Guerrero's worthless "Word from Westwood." As discussed numerous times here this ridiculous web product laughably peddled as a "blog" is nothing more than a stale buereacratic newsletter. Nevertheless, it is interesting to keep an eye on it just to get a sense of myopia and delusions going through Chianti-what's wrong with Spaulding-Dan's head.
Here is the main laugh paragraph of the week. Dan pre-emptively seem to set up an excuse for our next game by mentioning a "13 mile trek" to play Southern Cal:
After sweeping the Arizona schools last week at the Honda Center to even their Pac-12 Conference record at 2-2, Ben Howland and his squad will now make the 13-mile trek across town to face USC at the Galen Center next Sunday evening. It will be the Bruins' only game of the weekend and the first on the road since opening the season in the Bay Area - road victories will be the key to a successful conference season, and we will be seeking our first of the season.
Hmm, I wonder how the heck will Dan explain why UCLA will make the same "trek" to play Southern Cal for our "home game" at the Garbage Arena next to their campus? You'd think if Guerrero and his cohorts had any sense of advance logistics, they'd consider playing that game at Honda Arena or another location in Southern California at least making sure the Trojans are not as close as they are to the Garbage Arena. It's a good thing that the Trogan basketball program is a total joke and there should be no excuses any way for not sweeping those clowns this season.
Chianti also made excuses for screwing up the Wooden Classic:
As I mentioned in last week's blog, the Thursday night game against Arizona last week was not only a Pac-12 Conference game, but also doubled as the Wooden Classic. Due to some unique circumstances particular to this season, the Wooden Classic and a conference game were combined into one. You can be assured that the Wooden Classic will not feature a conference match-up in the future.
We are presently working diligently with the new owner of the Wooden Classic and the Wooden Family representatives at IMG to develop a model for future Classic games. The Pac-12 will also be involved since game broadcast rights for all conference schools fall under its auspices. I will provide you with an update as things progress over the coming months ...
Oh we can hardly wait. Notice how he provides nothing detailed about "unique circumstances." There is no cogent explanation for why this has to be so "complicated" for Dan.
I guess we should be thankful he didn't put a desperate call out to Purdue's AD and ask him if we could have a "neutral court" game against the Boilermakers in Indianapolis!
Once again nothing but cluster-you know what on all fronts. If you have to stomach to read rest of the BS you can go here.
GO BRUINS.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

he took a compromising position…
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
I'm not sure why I find this funny
I also don’t know why I bothered to read this week’s “blog.”
But the “Q&A” for this week struck me oddly. The question asked for a Pauley renovation update. Dan responds…
As it presently stands, new Pauley is still very much a construction site and will remain in that state until we receive the keys to the building from the contractor later this year.It would seem that either Dan is on the outside, with no clue as to what is taking place inside the “construction site,” or that Dan has no desire to share anything meaningful about what is taking place. Maybe, both. Fortunately, though, all mysteries will be unlocked when he receives the keys to the kingdom.
It’s like having a custom car built. Presumably, the buyer specified exactly what the car was to be—motor, interior, color, amenities, etc. Then, when someone asks “How’s your car coming?” the buyer responds with “I’ll let you know when I get the keys.”
Weird, but I’ve come to expect weird.
How's your new home?
Oh I looked around and knew exactly what I was going to get, but I can’t say for certain how the new home will look until I receive the keys. However, I do know that its a house and will remain a house.
Dump Dan!

Yeah that was an odd comment to make.
And is not he picking these questions to answer? Is he getting his updates from the webcam of the renovation. We can all see that it is still a construction site from the webcam. Talk about lazy. He could have post the link to the webcam and/or the link to the last video update that they did with AAD Ken Weiner. Maybe that guy miss it during that basketball game a while ago.
Interesting,
after going to http://www.campaignofchampions.com, somebody did post an update though it is a month old. He could have still used it, mentioned it, or linked it. Isnt that what a blog should do? Good job Dan! Way to stay on top of things.
DG's whole "Trust me"
personna just reeks of arrogant, smarmy incompetence.
As you say, 15, he could have pointed to links; he could have referenced real information; he could have offered to follow up with more data.
Being genuinely communicative just seems beyond him.
When you get paid $600,000+ per year and strap it on every day, you can't say "It's coming along."
You have to say nothing with as many words as possible. Especially when you’re too lazy to check and actually find out how the construction is going.

Bureaucratic doublespeak
Paraphrasing from the “blog”, the exact date for completion has yet to be determined but the goods news is that the project is very much on schedule. As the guy from the old Jim Healy radio program would say, “Uh . . . okay!”
That's the trek that our first two championship teams made for all their home games.
Every time Chianti Dan speaks or writes anything, he reveals to all that he is a blithering idiot. Is he surrounded by such total ninnies that they don’t know that he sounds like a dunce, or are they two afraid to say anything? The fact that Block allows Guerrrerror shows that a person can have lots of advanced degrees and still be totally clueless.
