Rick Neuheisel Joining CBS Sports Network's Recruiting Coverage

Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports just tweeted that Coach Rick Neuheisel (and Ron Zook) is going to join CBS Sports Network's recruiting coverage. He added:

Don't know about Zooker but Neuheisel owned the camera when I saw him previously on CBSSN.

That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone here. I think this is really fantastic for Neuheisel. He is going to be a natural in this setting about a topic he is a master at. I also have no doubt that he is going to be one of the biggest Bruin supporter on the national stage.

Star-divide

We have heard lot of positive feedback about Jerry Neuheisel and how he has been going all out to help Coach Jim Mora in his recruiting efforts. Neuheisel had his flaws as a head coach and it didn't work out. But we can never doubt the loyalty of the Neuehisel family to blue and gold.

My only hope is that this CBS opportunity turns into a bigger platform for Neuheisel. We can definitely use more Bruins such as Neuheisel, Randy Cross, Charles Arbuckle (ESPNU) and Troy Aikman on the national media platforms.

GO BRUINS.

Happy for Neuheisel

If the broadcasting thing suits his tastes, I sure wouldn’t mind him being on TV more.

Good for him!

While interviewing high school stars I’m sure he’ll find a way to push the positives of playing in Westwood.

I knew he would land on his feet!

RN was pure class, whatever other faults as a coach he may have had.

I'd be happy

if he took Craig James’s gig for now. And eventually, I’d rather he replace the blowhard and the spitter (aka Mark May and Lou Holtz). They are way more annoying than Herbie.

Realistically, I think he should replace the guy they use on Fox Sports who just sucks.

But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.

Oh God ... yes

And unlike Craig James there is no rumor swirling around Neuheisel about him killing 5 hookers. I know that story may not be true but I am still looking for total proof that it’s not true!

I read on Yahoo just yesterday

that James was likely to pull in no more than 2% of the vote in the Republican primary, even though he is universally known because of his BSPN exposure. The article suggested that his attack on Coach Leach made him the most hated man in west Texas. One expert (and I suppose everyone’s an expert) said he was very surprised that James was projected to get as much as 2%.

And it couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.

glad to hear it

Rick bleeds blue and gold, was classy to the end, did not have the same (seeming) support for assistants and facilities his successor seems to be getting, and was cursed with some horrible injury luck. I hope he gets some more good breaks in the coming years.

Great for Rick!

He absolutely killed it the last time he was on CBS Sports. Very humorous and explained his glowed on camera.

He will certainly be an improvement over 99.9% of his colleagues

but unless he has the ability to turn up my volume, I won’t be hearing him.
