UCLA Football: Treggs Enjoys Westwood, Goines Watch & Other Notes
We may be in the middle of the week, but Coach Mora and the rest of the staff are hitting the recruiting trail hard. Coach Mora and Coach Klemm were in Georgia and Texas, respectively, yesterday. Coach Mora apparently offered WR Juwan Dickey and Class of 2013 RB/WR Josh Danforth, clearly showing an attempt to set up a Georgia pipeline, while Coach Klemm met with massive OT Simon Goines. We haven't seen an "8Clap" tweet from Coach Klemm yet, but Goines appears close to committing to the Bruins.
Other news worth checking out:
- UCLA has updated the official website to include bios of the new coaching staff. You can check it out here. Unfortunately, most of the coaches haven't had time for their photo shoots yet.
- 5* WR Bryce Treggs enjoyed his official visit to Westwood last week. He'll visit again unofficially before visiting USC and Cal. He is close to Coach Yarber, who might have just enough sway to pull him away from Cal.
- 3* WR Kenny Walker said he nearly committed to UCLA during his visit last weekend, but he will visit UW this weekend according to Greg Biggins.
- Sal Alosi has begun offseason training, and yes, 6 am and 8 am lifts do sound like a grind.
- UCLA currently has 25 commitments and is tied for the 10th best class.
Stay tuned for more updates as the daily news breaks.

Treggs
I really hope we can bring this player in. Wide Receiver is pretty thin for us. I think it will come down to how much a priority it is for him to see significant playing time in his first year. With the wide receiver depth at U$C I can’t see this guy, or really any freshmen getting significant time right out of the gate.
You had me at "we"
This reminds me a lot of the excitement leading up to signing day for the 2010 recruiting class with the footage of our guys choosing UCLA hats in front of their families. Its nice to have a positive outlook about UCLA football and its future.
Treggs
I believe he’s actually visiting again unofficially today, then has his official visit at $C Thursday and Friday, then is unofficially visiting Cal on Saturday. Then I suppose he’ll decide after that, as signing day is one week from today.
he played with Hundley in HS
when Brett was at Chandler. Hopefully he wants to get back with him

Also played with CB Paul Perkins who has committed to UCLA
I imagine as a WR on the same team, he must’ve gotten to know Perkins pretty well in practice!

More importantly
The kid has offers from Gundy and Petrino. Really good sign for a receiver who could potentially be a nice fit in Mazzone’s offense.

CRN brought recruiting excitement back
CJM is bringing it too and I think people are excited because he has revived a class that was dead in a matter of a month. If he wins, recruiting won’t be an issue and should be quite exciting for years to come.
WR is huge position of need. We have some kids that are versatile enough to play there but I’m looking for some kids that are true WR’s. At a minimum, we need to get 2. Some combination of Walker/McDonald/Williams/Goforth/Harper would work. Treggs is too close to call and Whitfield is Furd bound IMO.
We look to be in the drivers seat for Goines but would really like to add a top end Tackle. We have lots of OG types but we need better depth at OT.
Otherwise, I’ll let the rest play itself out. Should be fun.
I like this tweet from Coach Klemm
Cant wait for Feb 1st… Its going DOWN! #uclagang
Another Chianti Failure
No time for coaches photos? With todays tech, it takes about 1 minute to get this done. What takes time is planning, attention to detail and executing your plan.
