Can't say I'm surprised
If the kid wants to play fullback, why would he go to a team bringing in a spread offense? Even if we mix in some pro-style sets, he’d still only see the field sparingly unless he changed positions.

Good point, but I am not entirely convinced of that.
Coach Mazzone is going to tailor his offense to the players he’s got. He didn’t use the TE at ASU, but you can bet he will be using Faria. He didn’t have a fast, extremely strong 250lb FB with soft hands, either. Maybe that wasn’t enough for Powell. Too bad, I was really jacked to see him commit to us. Best of luck to a great kid.
That's a tough sell though
I don’t know if I would be able to just take their word for it that they’ll change their whole system for you. Joseph Fauria is the exception to the rule, as he’s easily the best tight end in the Pac-12..
Why would they recruit him
if they didn’t plan on using him? They need all the scholarships they can get and wasting it on a guy they wouldn’t use doesn’t make sense. I’m sure they had some plans for him.
But hey, what do I know. Iām just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
Not saying they didnt plan on using him
I just think they hoped to eventually talk him into switching positions.

I am really bummed.
I thought he would make a great linebacker.
The best to you Christian. Hope you do great things at CU
