The recruiting "Dead Period" really isn't
Dead Period
The college coach may not have any in-person contact with you or your parents at any time in the dead period. The coach may write and telephone you or your parents during this time.

Hmm
In-person contact could be defined many ways. If only we had some attorneys who followed BN to give guidance :)
We do have at least one that I know of.
In person means to be in one’s physical presence. That’s not ambiguous, is it? Regardless, I am certain that the NCAA has clear guidelines for recruiters to remove potential ambiguities.
How about if the coach is in the front room, and the recruit is way off in the dining room?
Or in the case of Cheatie Petie, how about if the coach meets with the kid and his parents in a real estate agent’s office or a vehicle leasing office? Would that count?
What about Bryce Treggs?
How was he at UCLA on Monday and at SUC today where he received an official offer? Did they use a messenger or something?
I also remember two years ago, when Jordan Zumwalt and Cassius Marsh came over right after their officials to SUC and within the 48hr before signing day dead period, for one last pitch from Neu and the staff. Maybe contact means they cannot initiate contact, but players can still come on campus of their own will.
