Animated Drive Chart brought to you by Gameday Depot.
Solid lines are drives, dashed lines are punts. It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway), this chart is much easier on the eyes than last week’s.
The game wasn’t exciting but that’s okay, it was enjoyable. We converted the one time we went for it on 4th down and were rewarded with a touchdown a couple of plays later. We were penalized for less than half of the yardage that we were last week. Our O-line play was improved; I think we gave up two sacks but that’s a heck of a lot better than the 5 or so we had against Cal. The D did its job, save Utah’s 4th quarter drive. That said we played the 116th-ranked offense in the nation so I hope the team keeps things in perspective.
I was never worried that we weren’t going to win. I’d probably be feeling a little better today if yesterday was an absolute rout. Still, take away Utah’s touchdown on the miffed punt return and the game never really seemed to be in jeopardy.
