Friday Night Open Thread: CFB & NLCS

I love Fridays!!

Even if they mean nothing to a shift worker like myself, just the whole principle of a weekend is awesome. And what better way to start off the weekend than by watching whatever sports happen to be occurring and rapping about them (or anything else on your mind - Squirt A hockey anyone?) with your fellow BN'ers.

College football has a single matchup tonight, with Syracuse hosting UConn. Granted, this would be infinitely more compelling in basketball, but as it's the only college football game on the slate tonight, I'm all in! This game is on ESPN and begins at 5pm Pacific (8p for the east coasters). I know nothing about how either team is doing or who is favored or pretty much anything else, but who cares...FOOTBALL!!

Just a couple remote clicks away in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series, where the battery chuckers (sorry, bitter Dodger fan coming out) San Francisco Giants will try to stay alive in St Louis against the Cardinals. The Cards hold a 3-1 series lead and are a game away from returning to the world series where the Detroit Tigers await. Who needs Albert Pujols, anyway, right Angels fans? Barry Zito will start for the Giants and Lance Lynn will start for the Cards. First pitch is at 5pm Pacific and the game is on Fox.

Two channels. Locate the back button on the remote, stretch out the thumb, and kick back and have at your Friday night open thread. Go Bruins!!
