Ben and Chianti are responsible for the Shabazz mess - J. Meric

Chianti Dan and Ben have no Excuses this year. They knew that the NCAA would be investigating Shabazz Muhammad. Ben staked his career on it, and Chianti Dan brought Ben back knowing the risks.

With news of Shabazz Muhammad's injury and the ongoing NCAA investigation saga, it seems as if Shabazz will miss multiple games for one reason or another, and this could very well start Ben Howland's no excuses tour on a very rough start.

I for one, however, will not accept any excuses about Shabazz's injury or (possible) suspension.

We've been warning since February that Shabazz would be investigated could be ineligible for at least part of the season.

Now don't get me wrong, Shabazz has the potential to be a very good player. But everyone involved with UCLA basketball from Chianti Dan on down knew that he would be investigated and knew that he was a one-and-done. They pinned all their hopes on him anyway, fully aware of the risks.

So if Shabazz missses some games, it will not be a valid excuse.
