Shootout in the Desert - Animated Drive Chart

Rick Scuteri-US PRESSWIRE

60 yards in a minute and a half. That last 1:33 of the game was an uneasy jumble of tempered hope and muted dread.

I’d polished off my last shot of bourbon and was on my feet for Fairbairn’s kick. "He’s a green, untested freshman…", I had to remind myself to not get my hopes up that we could actually pull this off. I was fearing some sort negative karma for last year's botched field goal by ASU. Could it really break UCLA's way two years in a row? But the kick was good, Fairbairn was dog-piled, and the kid will be a legend on campus on Monday. Ka'imi - BMOC - lap it up, kid.

Even knowing the outcome ahead of time, I still find this drive chart stressful to watch. Could we have had a worse start to a game? Oh yeah, last year's home match against Texas... But rather than fold, yesterday we rallied and overcame. Twice.

Love that Hilliard interception out of the endzone to set-up the JetSki touchdown. And, to expand on gbruin's brilliant Morning After write-up, "There's no Heaven quite like a U.C.L.A. win" AND a u$c loss. Here's another Animated Drive Chart, Schadenfreude Edition
