Jet Ski's name has been bandied about in the Heisman hunt the past few weeks. Football Outsiders, the same site where I found the data for this look at the Bruins football trajectory over the last few years, provides an interesting read on what makes Franklin such a good Heisman candidate – rather than power, it’s his decision-making abilities. The article breaks down several of Franklin’s runs from the 2011 season to illustrate his "decisiveness".
The author’s rationalization for looking at 2011 was twofold: 1) the season was filled with moments where a Franklin had to "stretch himself to create gains" (something, the author argues, many RBs from solid college programs don’t experience until the NFL), and 2) hey, UCLA sucked in 2011 and Franklin still performed.
The article includes pretty detailed analysis, complete with several marked up screenshots of Franklin in action (example below) supported with insightful commentary.

Pretty cool, check it out. According to the author, Franklin's deep repetoire of skills makes him NFL-ready now. Should be fun watching him perform next year.
