All season long the Southern Cal offense has been pretty efficient for the most part, however a big part of that SUCcess has been the fact that Matt Barkley has had a primary target to hit....when all else fails throw it to Lee! Of course we can't forget about Woods, who really has'nt been utilized as much as last season, but none the less should'nt be overlooked. I really do feel that the Southern Cal offense is primarily one dimentional in the sense that most of thier touchdowns or big plays are the break away pass to Lee, or Woods. 34 of thier TD's are passing TD's, 23 of which are to Lee(13) or Woods(10). The Pass/Rush TD ratio is 34/12. Nearly a third of thier TD's come from the pass.
If we really want to make things difficult for the Trogens, we must limit thier use of thier primary weapons!.....well, try telling that to Price and Hester who should be allowed to carry thier own penalty flags on thier waste as much as they get the PI call. Our corners are gonna have a long day if they dont play a smart coverage. You know damn well Lame Kitten is banking on our corners to help him get extra penalty yards. He is gonna attack those two all day unless they play smart and disciplined. It would be wise to keep a quick free safety as a spy and an aid for coverage..... then again Im no football coach and will not attempt to scheme up a plan that will limit these two receivers. (but u may in the comments of course) But, however it can be done, taking away or limiting those two will be crucial. That would force the Cheaters to beat us on the ground. Considering Silas Red is coming off an injury I wouldnt consider him 100% for this game. Mc Neal is still at thier disposal and he is no joke either lookin at last season. But Im confident our Defense can handle thier run game and put some good pressure on a "Buckle under pressure Barkley".
So in the end if we cage up thier two primary weapons I see this game "highly" in our favor. But! If we dont contain the pass we are in for hard fighting offensive battle as I believe our offense is well rounded, confident, and reliable. Our Pass/Rush TD ratio is 24/21.
Whats in our favor is that we use a great deal of our personel to get scores. We have used 14 diffrent players to score a TD with our offense (some more than other obviously) compared to our counter parts using only 8 players to date (most of which are Lee and Woods).
Bottom Line! We have a better team than SUC this season, all we have to do is show it on the field! GO BRUINS!
