Enough is enough! He has lost his way. I contend that he has gone from being an excellent coach (or had excellent asst coaches under him) to a below average one. Yes, you read that correctly, he's not average, he is below that and it's embarrassing. Howlanders may argue that you don't just lose your ability to coach. Well, yes you do. The game has passed him by and he is unable to adapt. His game plan is so predictable on both O and D and opposing coaches have figured him out. He has had very talented players throughout his tenure at UCLA and in the past 5 years he just can't produce to the level that one would expect based on that talent. He has been failing on so many levels in the past 5 years.
1. Not even close to producing the number of wins that one would reasonably expect at the beginning of the season.
2. Frequent "bad" loses to mid-major programs. I'm including UCI this year as we really should have lost that one and it was quite pathetic,
3. There is no energy or excitement from the players.
4. Too many transfers out and overall sense of instability in the program.
Please feel free to add to the list.
We've learned what a new coach and "culture" change can do in football and it's long overdue to make this happen in basketball, the sport most strongly associated with UCLA. I watch every single game and have done so for the past decade and WE Bruins do not deserve to watch this uninspired play in our legacy sport.
