Johnathan Franklin: UCLA Career Rushing Leader - Telemachus
UCLA wins big over Arizona at the Rose Bowl as the Bruins crown a new career rushing leader.
The Bruins took control on the very first series starting from the UCLA 25 and drove down to the Arizona 37 yard line using a mixture of short passes and runs. With two rushes totalling 10 yards, Johnathan Franklin was within 11 yards of Gaston Green's career 3,731 yards rushing. Franklin took the hand-off from Brett Hundley scampering through, around and past the Wildcat defenders on his way to the endzone becoming the new Bruins career rushing leader.
Here's his record breaking run:
After the record breaking run, Coach Mora called a timeout to properly honor Franklin's achievement. Gaston Green's congratulations played on the video board while the Rose Bowl crowd gave a standing ovation. The electricity throughout the stadium was palpable early and Arizona never had a chance.
Franklin would go on to gain 162 yards on 24 carries for two touchdowns as the Bruins manhandled the Wildcats 66-10.
Here's to the mayor and his continued success as he puts an exclamation point on his UCLA career.
