Postgame Interview: Jim Mora

ICYMI Here is Coach Mora postgame's interview with the Pac-12 network's (and U.C.L.A.'s very own) Ryan Nece.

Here's the link. Rough Transcript below. Love the praise that Coach Mora has for Franklin.

Nece:

You came to this university to try to change the culture. You guys put on a dominant performance tonight. What does that mean, this type of performance, to support what you're trying to change?

Mora:

That's a tough question. I mean it's a good win, I think are guys are real focused and I think they'll hit it just as hard next week. You know we got a big one against Washington State. Every time you win a game and keep yourself in the hunt the next one gets bigger. So we gotta approach it that way, we can't get too high about this thing. We gotta go back to work, figure out what went wrong and try to fix it and keep going.

Nece:

In terms of things what went wrong, obviously you guys played very well offensively (Mora: we did), you played very well defensively (Mora: we did), what are the things you saw out there that you feel like you need to correct?

Mora:

We had two substitution errors on offense where we had 12 guys on the field, we gotta correct that. You know, we'll see about the PI calls, I don't know we'll see how those were. Just I want our operation to be smoother, I felt like there were a couple lulls, and we just gotta get through those but it was a great win, I don't want to down play it.
It was a great night for Jonathan Franklin, what a classy kid, what a representative of this university and it's just really neat to see him run out there for Melvin, that just shows you all that Jonathan Franklin is about. It's his night and he took a 15 yard penalty to go talk to Melvin, to go give Melvin a hug, I thought it was awesome man.

Nece:

Congrats coach on the impressive win
