They are leveraging the name and rep of Bill Walsh to raise money to improve their football facilities. Brilliant. SJSU gets it.

Hey that IM field is used for more important things
Who needs a top flight training facility for our D1 men’s football team. I mean that’s kinda important, but strapon knows that our real revenue generator is our men’s club lacrosse team. We need the IM field for them to practice. Don’t forget women’s club rugby either, we can’t have our silly football club get in the way of our real money sports.

(b) . . . SJSU has wealthier and more influential alumni;
© . . . UCLA is out of space;
(d) . . . SJSU has a tradition of athletic excellence;
(e) . . . SJSU has more fans;
(f) . . . SJSU have greater brand name recognition here and abroad;
(g) . . . SJSU has more football celebrity cache upon which to name said facilities;
(h) . . . all of the above.
