The Bruins (3-3) busted out of their early season hitting slump by putting together a big afternoon against no. 24 Baylor (6-1) yesterday. The Bruins pounded the Baylor pitching staff - who had been outstanding in first few games of this season - for 12 hits, scoring season high 9 runs. Bruins now have a chance to build some confidence early in the season by taking the rubber match this afternoon. Zack Weiss will go to the mound for our Bruins, while the Bears will counter with Brad Kuntz in a 1 pm PT game at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Hopefully Weiss will get the benefit of another good Bruin hitting performance this afternoon. He took a tough loss his last time out after allowing 3 unearned run in 5 innings last week.
