Poll: Who is your favorite UCLA Football Recruit?
I think we can all agree that Signing Day was pretty exciting. New UCLA coach Jim Mora did an impressive job salvaging the 2012 recruiting class when he didn't have much time to do so. He even nabbed a few elite prospects, enough to get UCLA the No. 12 recruiting class in the country! This is a great start to Mora's tenure.
Here's a quick run-down of the highest rated recruits that Mora and his staff landed:
DT Ellis McCarthy.
No. 2 Defensive Tackle in the country, according to Scout. Got a five-star rating from both them and Rivals.com. This was another impressive get for Mora and his staff, and things only got better from here.
CB Ishmael Adams.
No. 7 Cornerback in the country. I've heard nothing but great things about this kid. Should be pretty exciting to see in Blue and Gold.
QB Devin Fuller.
Probably the best dual-threat quarterback in the country, and was ranked No. 3 best quarterback overall in the nation. He was pursued heavily by anyone who wanted a dual-threat quarterback (Arizona, Nebraska, Rutgers). I mainly find this guy to be a major steal because Notre Dame was begging for him before they got Gunner Kiel, and Rich Rodriguez went after him hard. My only query is whether he will play QB for Mora.
WR Jordan Payton.
Jumped on board on Signing Day and adds another great amount of talent to what's looking like a very fast offense. A few of my friends were really giddy over this one.
DE Jeremy Castro.
Got a four-star rating from Rivals. Has really good penetrating ability on the defensive line and will bring a lot of power to the Bruin pass rush. Look out, USC.
There's a lot to love about this class, but which signee are you guys most excited about? Personally, my vote goes to Devin Fuller, mainly because it shocked a lot of people (myself included) and was a huge boost to the program. Of course, Fuller will have to compete for the job over Prince and Brett Hundley, but it's still pretty wow-worthy.
What say you?

I voted Ishmael Adams too. Saw him kill it in the Army all-American game

This guy might wind up being the next McNown . . . or the next Crissman . . . but I’d be happy with the next Drew Olsen
^^this
I’m on a UCLA football group on FB and Rios constantly shows his Bruin love. Great guy with a great family.

The offense begins with the line and the line starts with the center.
Carl Hulick is a man beast. A smart, athletic heavyweight wrestler with a nasty playing disposition and enormous strength, he will become the anchor point for what should be a dominant offensive line.
Nate Iese from Sacramento.
Awesome kid. Absolute beast. But the whole class is impressive. They all seem to be tough and committed. A new attitude. Time will tell.
From a talent and impact standpoint, McCarthy
For what he did by talking up the program, Adams.
And for anyone willing to take a chance on a great school with a program in transition, I am grateful to every one of them. Can’t wait to see them get some pads on!

I don't discriminate
Everybody that suits up for us and stays loyal with the program until eligibility runs out, is a favorite in my book. Unless of course, they’re named Nikola Dragovic and play basketball.
Dump Dan!
The kicker from Hawaii (2 stars, Ha!)
Looks like a “Lloyds of London guarantee” that less then 5% of kickoffs will be returned against us + 50 yard and longer field goals when necessary. But almost every kickoff into the end zone and beyond is one heck of a weapon, if not an actual game changer on occasion.
Definitely the kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn.
When the team does all the work it can in a game you sum up their success with the score. Usually the win is dependent on that important field goal or extra point. I’ve seen Boise State and Alabama each lose one game during 2011 from missing one or more field goals. I am now positive Ka’imi can deliver. He is a blue ribbon commit and a true blue Bruin. That applause in the background is the 8-clap.
I don't like having to rely on the kicker at the end of a game. Too much of that in the past.
But I am really, really hopeful Ka’imi is as good as his press. We felt the absence last year for sure.
Right now, my favorite recruit is the guy in the blue shirt and gold tie pictured at the top
What he has done so far has turned me around. He has given me a reason to have hope. I am not going to risk looking in the archives and seeing what Coach Neuheisel said in his first two months on the job, because it’s probably exactly the same thing. I prefer keeping my hope at least until things start happening (or not happening) on the field.
I now ask Nestor, the High Priest of Karma, to invoke whatever needs to be invoked to make Coach Mora a success. Nestor, I’ve done all I can. It’s up to you, now.

Bruins are forever but Trojans are good only once.
I voted for Fuller, but it's really a vote for both QBs
Mostly because we haven’t had a good QB in Westwood since Olsen’s one good season. And haven’t had a consistently good QB since the 90s.
With three blue chip QBs on our roster now, I am hoping that one of them can help us finally have a consistent offense.
And yes, I understand offensive and defensive line are probably more important. But I’ve seen too much Paus, Prince, Moore, Ben Olson, etc.
