UCLA Computer Science Professor Judea Pearl wins ACM Turing Award
Much of the public world only sees UCLA as the birthplace of the internet, but one can argue that some of the foundations of artificial intelligence were also started here. Professor Judea Pearl was awarded the ACM Turing Award (like a Nobel Prize for Computer Science) this year for his achievements in the field of AI. I know we're not getting a lot of good news these days so it's great to see any academic accomplishments like this from time to time.
