More on the Commitment of Texas 4 Star LB Deon Hollins Jr.

News broke late last night about UCLA's latest commitment - 4 star LB Deon Hollins Jr. from Houston, Texas. While Hollin's commitment gives a lot of momentum to Mora and his staff, heading into 2012 season folks should keep in mind how the topsy-turvy world of recruiting works. Here is Hollins' comment after he committed to UCLA:

"I'll still look around and see," he said. "I'm a Bruin now but I'll look around and see if the program will fit me and what will fit me best but I'm happy with my commitment."

No doubt other schools will keep calling him which will include national heavy weights such as Oklahoma, Ohio State and Notre Dame. I am sure coaches like Demetrice Martin and Jeff Ulbricht, who helped in getting this commitment, will be equally intense in fending off the competition but ultimately it will be on field results that will ensure UCLA can finish putting together, what could be a monster recruiting class after Mora's first season at UCLA. 8-9 regular seasons and beating Southern Cal will get that done.

Here are the "official" highlights of Deon Hollins via Deon Hollins Sr:

Welcome to Westwood Deon. He becomes the 5th member of class of 2013, 3 of whom are from outside California.

GO BRUINS.
