UCLA Basketball's Dumpster Fire Season Is Over: NO to NIT

Well, that's it. The season is over as far as we're concerned, and we agree that Ben and Chianti Dan should say no thanks to the NIT. As Ryan said,

If we were a young team that came on late in the season

I could buy the "extra games, extra practice, a chance to build for next year" argument, but this team is not overly young and did not improve. They don’t even deserve the NIT, let alone deciding whether the UCLA program has any place in it (it doesn’t). End it now.

As far as if the team does accept an invitation to the NIT, or one of the other joke tourneys that no one, including our players, knows the name of or cares about, here's our position:

We don't hang NIT banners at UCLA, and so we will not be doing gamethreads or anything else special for meaningless exhibition games.

If community members want to FanPost or FanShot something there, whatever, but it's not going to be on our front page. It's now officially baseball season and time to look forward to spring ball in football. Consider this your open thread for the PathetiC 12 tourney or other more interesting action around the country.
