UCLA vs. Purdue Saturday Baseball Open Thread: Doubleheader To Start Things

A weird weekend schedule has UCLA and Purdue set to square off in a doubleheader today before playing the series finale tomorrow. With a national seed possibly at stake this weekend, that means today is a huge day for the two teams, but also for several other teams who are eying a national seed as well. Big series become old hat for the Bruins, but this is the first time that the Boilermakers have had this so how they handle it is up in the air.

Today's first game will see Adam Plutko take the mound against the Boilermakers' Joe Haase. We have no idea which Plutko we will see, while a bunch of ground balls is the standard for Haase. Nick Vander Tuig will start the late game for the Bruins against Lance Breedlove.

It's a great day for baseball, but if you are not out at the ballpark then listen in with John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm, who will have the call online. You can also get all the game updates, notes, observations and all the other goodies from my UCLA baseball twitter. This is your open thread as the Bruins try to get even so share updates as well as your thoughts and reactions here.
