Shabazz At Sonoma Academy

In a previous edition of Bruin Bites we mentioned incoming freshman swingman Shabazz Muhammad's participation at Sonoma Academy, and now some video has emerged of what appears to be an intense session that bodes well for next year's team.

Note: If you don't like Lux Aeterna blasting in your ears, turn your volume down for the first part.

For those who weren't able to watch the high school all star games that featured Shabazz alongside Kyle Anderson and Tony Parker and are getting their first glimpse of him, it should be clear that not only will Muhammad be the most gifted player on our team, but quite possibly the most gifted player in the entire conference given the pathetic and talent poor state of the Pac-12.

What I also liked seeing was that the session focused on off the ball work, which I expect Shabazz to make a living off of next year, especially with Kyle Anderson feeding him the ball.

Let this also be a warning to those who are apt to sandbag and lower expectations: after watching the all star games and the athleticism and work ethic of Shabazz here, there is no basis for expecting anything less than an elite, wire-to-wire Top 5, legitimately contending season out of Howland.
