The Bruins will face a familiar foe tonight in the Creighton Blue Jays at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Game 1 of the regional saw UCLA send Creighton to the losers bracket, but they have since battled back and eliminated San Diego and New Mexico earlier today to set up this rematch.
Due to the double elimination nature of the regional, the Bruins will have two chances to knock out the Blue Jays. If they cannot get it done tonight, these same teams will play tomorrow in what will be an elimination game for both teams. But for now, only Creighton's post season fate is in jeopardy, and I'm sure we'd all prefer to punch that Super Regional ticket now.
I'm also going to go out on a limb and guess that if Ty Blach isn't pitching tonight, he will be tomorrow night, which should be incentive enough to not leave things to chance here.
