Freshman Tony Parker is a little banged up. Apparently he is going to miss 2-4 weeks after reportedly suffering "strained left hamstring." From Gold:
His status for the team's trip to China is now in doubt as the team leaves on Aug. 21, returning Aug. 29. This leaves him the third of UCLA's vaunted freshman class to be plagued by offseason injuries, as Kyle Anderson and Shabazz Muhammad battled thumb and ankle injuries, respectively.
Here is to Parker getting healthy soon. But, this kind of news of nicks and bruises is standard for Howland's program. The team in 2005 was ravaged with injuries early on but it helped Howland develop his bench.
Howland has a deep team this year and he should be able to get through this kind of injury issues early in the season. No excuses.
Speaking of China - are we going to get any info. out of Chianti's athletic department on that trip soon? Hello. Anyone doing any work at Moran Center except for figuring out what donuts to bring in on Monday?
