Jim Mora: "I'm having so much fun I can't even stand it"

tWWL's Ivan Maisel, in his weekly "3-pt Stance," has some great bites from Jim Mora.

No. 22 UCLA's coach, Jim L. Mora, a 25-year NFL veteran, on making the switch to the college game: "Kids at this age have got this amazing enthusiasm for the game. They don't take anything for granted," said Mora, 51. "It's a lot of fun. It's fun to be with them in the locker room when they are listening to music, and dancing around, and pounding on each other. It's fun to watch them run out of the tunnel holding hands because they feel a sincere appreciation for one another. You don't necessarily see that at the next level. It's a blast. It's awesome. I'm having so much fun I can't even stand it.

Check it out in its entirety here.

You can't help but be excited for UCLA football. More after el jumpo.

The family and I were in Newport Beach this week for a wedding, and we dared venture to Balboa . .. errr . . . $UC Island for a Balboa Bar. To me, the experience was akin to a soldier leaving Gitmo for a sojourn through the streets of Havana looking for a Cuban cigar.

Anyhoo, for the first time in ages, I proudly wore my UCLA baseball hat in enemy territory. To my surprise, other than some good-natured ribbing, the $UC fans, and there were many representing (and who knows how many more in cognito), every last one of them gave me kudos for Mora and our win over Corn Nation.

I had no idea how much I missed the feeling of pride in my alma mater! GO BRUINS!!!
