Despite Saturday's home loss to Oregon State, bookmakers still see UCLA as a strong bet in this week's game against the Buffs in Boulder. As Eric Stevens at SBN Los Angeles noted earlier in the week, the Vegas line opened with the Bruins as 21 point favorites. The spread has closed slightly since then - as of Wednesday evening, sitting between 18.5 and 19.5 points.
That movement of a couple points might not be enough. As oddsshark.com notes, the Bruins are 3-10 against the spread in the last 13 road games. Overall, UCLA football has won just 1 of its last 11 road games in conference play.
Coach Mora needs to prove to a lot of people - whether part of the Bruin family or not - that this UCLA team can go on the road without blowing out a knee ligament tire or running off the highway when a Bear, Beaver, Cougar or Wildcat gets in the lane.

To follow up on gbruin's post covering Coach Mora's decision to kick the media out of this morning's practice, the offenders that Morgan Center officials allowed on the field against standing policy were television camera crews. According to Media Bistro, the crews were employed by ESPN and KTLA.
While there were unauthorized members of the media on the practice field at 7am, there were also three authorized players running late when the gates locked. Darius Bell, Dalton Hilliard, and Jerry Rice Jr were caught outside after practice began and had to be let in. Guessing that Coach Mora had some words for them.
