Despite Saturday's home loss to Oregon State, bookmakers still see UCLA as a strong bet in this week's game against the Buffs in Boulder. As Eric Stevens at SBN Los Angeles noted earlier in the week, the Vegas line opened with the Bruins as 21 point favorites. The spread has closed slightly since then - as of Wednesday evening, sitting between 18.5 and 19.5 points.
That movement of a couple points might not be enough. As oddsshark.com notes, the Bruins are 3-10 against the spread in the last 13 road games. Overall, UCLA football has won just 1 of its last 11 road games in conference play.
Coach Mora needs to prove to a lot of people - whether part of the Bruin family or not - that this UCLA team can go on the road without blowing out a
knee ligament tire or running off the highway when a Bear, Beaver, Cougar or Wildcat gets in the lane.
