Sure, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants played a game over in New York New Jersey on Wednesday night, but with 26 of the NFL's 32 teams starting their seasons today, this is the real opening day for pro football. The early games have just kicked off, with 3 more games to be played at 1:25pm PDT, and the final game of the night as NBC's game of the week, kicking off at 5:20 PDT.
Both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are playing early games today, and have already seen a possession or two on offense. In Northern California, at least, both networks have picked their games for broadcast.
- Colts @ Bears (CBS). Andrew Luck has led the Colts to an early score, and a 7-0 first quarter lead.
- Redskins @ Saints (Fox). RG3 led the Redskins to a field goal in his first drive leading the Washington offense.
The afternoon's remaining games follow.
- Rams @ Lions (10am PDT, Fox)
- Falcons @ Chiefs (10am, Fox)
- Eagles @ Browns (10am, Fox)
- Patriots @ Titans (10am, CBS)
- Dolphins @ Texans (10am, CBS)
- Bills @ Jets (10am, CBS)
- Jaguars @ Vikings (10am, CBS)
- 49ers @ Packers (1:25pm, Fox)
- Panthers @ Bucs (1:25pm, Fox)
- Seahawks @ Cardinals (1:25pm, Fox)
- Steelers @ Broncos (5:20pm, NBC)
This is your open thread for the first Sunday of the NFL season. I'll have more on the Bruins in the League later in the week. For now, have at it.
